Yes, Fender revealed the Vintera series today. It's crazy to think MIM instruments are at or north of a grand now.

    No rosewood board either.

I do like the 7.25 radius and C profile specs.

I'd hesitate to pay $949 for a MIA Mustang. No way I'd pay that for a MIM.

I was excited when I first saw it, but thank the gods that the combination of price and country of origin
squashed the GAS pretty quickly, because I definitely don't need another bass.

I’d love to see a Squier version for $300. Make it LPB with a competition stripe and I’d gladly pay $350. I’d pre-order today.

When the Squier VM Mustangs were available, they were $279 new in the US.
I'd love to see Squier bring them back, even if the price was a tiny bit higher,
like you say $300 and I'd probably go for it.

I really like the look of that bass, but that's too pricey for MIM, in my opinion.

Aw no. MIM Mustang you do NOT step near the 1K hood without a matching headstock.

I guess they're feeling out a non-road worn version of the JMJ signature Mustang, without killing sales of the JMJ in the process.

I'd personally love a non-road worn JMJ, and given that it would require considerably less work by hand on the production line, it ought to be a couple of hundred cheaper - but I think that could harm sales of the JMJ.

There are other differences between the new Vintera and the JMJ besides just the relicing on the finish. Nut width, neck profile, and fingerboard radius are all different.

I'd be happy to buy one used for about $500 in a few months.
