    "road worn"??

Do people REALLY buy into this crap marketing gimmick? Shoot, go buy a reissue p-bass and for $400 I'll make it look "road worn" lol

i said this in another thread just today.

but i "felt up" the neck on a Road Worn Strat that was on display at GC. and it just felt cheap. there was no way i could ever justify spending the $949 for that guitar. i wouldn't have liked that neck on a standard MIM Fender, either.

looking back on what i've played before, the necks on the regular Classic Series instruments were nearly perfect, at 3/4 the cost. i just don't get it.

Yeah, well in the UK I've seen them advertised for £949, which equates to $1445.

    Talk about over-priced!!!

The idea of buying pre-worn instruments is really asinine. If you want something that looks worn, then PLAY IT A LOT.

Although...myself would never buy a reliced "new" bass. I played a road worn tele and I have to say the neck was the best feeling neck I have played on a guitar and the weight was probably around 6 lbs. I would even buy it and just swap pickups...Viva La Mexico!

How many threads about Road Worns do we need? Along with all of the bickering over relics, I think relic owner's would be a bit offended by some of these statements.

This subject is really getting tired. Seriously, if some of you don't like relic'd basses, don't buy them. There's no need to constantly make jabs, whether directly or indirectly, at folks who do like them.
