Strange thing.. I don't even think they're available to the public yet... :meh:

I wonder how this person came in posession of the bass?? If you're interested I'm sure you could write to Bill and get some clarification..

this is a wee bit off topic, since it doesnt have to do with that bass, but more the conklin groove tools basses in general:

I was talking with bill dickens a little while ago and he showed me a new switch on a 5 string he was playing. He called it a slap switch...it sounded like it boosted some highs and such...whatever it did, it sounded awesome. I didn't get a chance to hear it on an actual bass amp, but through a pair of studio monitors it sounded so sweet. I got a chance to mess around with it for a few minutes, and the switch definitely added to the tone.

I can't remember if he said they were going to be putting these switches on all the 5 stringers or if it was just one for him....other than the switch it looked exactly like a GT-5. (granted, i havent checked up with conklin much lately, for all i know they couldve released it already...).

I recall hearing that something like this was being added to the GTs.

Yeah, I think the Groove Tools are made at the same factory.
