Hello everyone. This isn't my first post because I apparently can't read, but I joined up to attempt to learn a lot about playing, and just basic information that I should know, but don't. I'm from a small town in southern Tennessee called Pulaski. I've been interested in playing bass since I was in high school, but never became proficient enough to amount to anything and put it down for close to 15 years. A couple of years ago, I seen a friend of mine's dad playing and ask if he could help me to "re"-learn as I still had my 4 string in the closet. Little did I know, he put me in the middle of playing my bass while he played his standard guitar and his wife played the piano the following week at church. I had enough knowledge of where the notes were that I could keep up, but that was basically how I picked everything back up. I don't have much of a technique and don't have the first clue about chord patterns, but I do well enough to play along with them and I'm happy with it, just want a little more.
I kind of did the same. I am currently using http://www.studybass.com/ developed by Andrew Pouska and it's great to use as a refresher. Have fun!
