New Hanewinckel models!

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Dave Grossman, Dec 16, 2002.

  1. Pete sent me these the other day. This is a 6-string Solaris ( probably an Artist or Pro model ) semi-hollowbody with Piezo pickups, Tomastik-Infeld Acousticore strings and MIDI! This is a brand new body style and the semi-hollowbody option is new too.

This is an under-construction Nimbus model. I'll have to find out what kind of wood that is. It's pretty sweet.

There is also a new Signature series. If I get more pics, I'll post 'em.

    Hanewinckel's site is at http://www.hguitars.com/

  2. The Solaris sure looks like a Precision, doesn't it?

Yeah, it does look nice. At first glance it seemed as if the bass had a "rusted" look to it. Striped Bubinga, maybe?

    It does look P-ish.

The Nimbus body is bubinga, I'll bet.

Looks very nice, as usual, Dave.

Very nice. Were I able to afford a custom bass, it would be a Hanewinckel. He's got some of the coolest designs. A Fusion or Gripen four with piezos would make me one happy camper.
  7. Pete said he was going for something a little more traditional with the Solaris. You can't get more traditional than a P-bass! :D

    Here's a P-bass for comparison ( from http://www.fender.com/ )

I dunno why but the Signature series sure does have a "Zon Legacy" feel to it

  9. Just got these pics:

Almost makes me want to play guitar. Almost. :p

    Here's a pretty sweet Draken

Wow. I'm already a huge fan, and every time I see new basses from Pete they make me gasp. The new body styles, . . . I think I like the old ones better. But that's why you have a choice. :)

Uh oh. I do play guitar. I think my PRS is crying. Is that a one-off, or is he going to build guitars now too?

I'm new, and I've never even heard of Hanewinckel, but those are absolutely stunning.

I'm really fond of my Sedona bodystyle, very comfortable.

  16. I think this thread is worth bumping once... I really wish I could afford a Hanewinckel...
  17. Just got this pic!

    Pete goes headless! Sweeeeet!

  18. I've only seen one other one but I know he's built more. How many, I'm not sure. He says his guitars are as good as his basses. He just concentrates on basses, I guess.
