    Hey everyone,
I have been putting aside some money for a bit of time now to get a new cabinet and head. I currently have a rumble 25 and it is dying. Also, I am starting to gig with my band and need something more. I have around $550. I am looking for a cabinet and head with a more rock-focused tone. Used stuff is absolutely okay. I was thinking a SVT410HLF with a PF500 but I have heard about it dying quickly. What do you recommend?
    Thanks!

What kind of music? The SVT410HLF is a very boomy cab, and hard to get real articulation.

I apologize for not specifying, it's mostly rock and prog rock. But I would like to get one that's pretty versatile in case I choose to expand to other genres.

Then I would steer clear of the SVY410HLF, but others may agree or disagree. That cab would be best for classic rock and motown. You should look at the 610HLF instad. Much more versatile. Or at least a good 210. Avatar makes a nice one, and they pop up in used all the time for around $200.

Thanks, any heads you would recommend for those as well?

I would look for at least 300 watts at 8 ohms. To save money stay away from the D-Class heads as they are pricey. Maybe look for a good GK or Hartke.

What about a hartke cab and head? Or would that be more of a jazzy tone rather than rock

That would work too. Where are you located?

Ohio. I am thinking the TX600 but am unsure of what Cab it would be compatible with. LMK your opinion. And this would work for rock correct?

Check facebook market place, lots of great used gear for cheap. Quite a few people trying to unload older ,heavier cabs for cheap, good luck.

That head would work, but it's $400 new, and it's a fairly recent amp. Might not be many on the used market. Used you might fing for $300 which doesn't leave much for a cab. If you're lucky you could find a used Avatar B210 for $200.

Going over a bit is fine, I am good with 300 for a tx600 but just don't know which cab to pair it with

Get (1) B210 @8oHms, them add another later to get a 4oHm load. I've run (1) of there with 300 watts at 8oHms and pushed alot of air, that I hardly ever needed or wanted to use my other B210 cab. That was with a loud cover band.

Thanks. Could I also do a 410XL and a 115XL (in terms of OHMs and Wattage)? As the total of these would around 350.

What is the issue with those two? Price? Cause I am willing to go over. OHMs? Not good?
