new head.

  1. bought my first head today. it's an swr 4004 working man series. give me some input on what you think about these things. almost got an ampeg svt. but for 50 more i got 50 more watts. it's a lot louder. need to know something about their stability and how long they stay in good shape. appreciate any replys.
  2. Good score...the WM series of SWR amps are fine, although they don't share the tube preamp of their other models.
And they last forever...literally. Never seen or heard of an SWR (myself) cooking. Some earlier SWR heads used to get pretty hot, but survived nonetheless.

see.. i got one too !

these heads rock.. they're verry rich of lower mids.
i've had this baby for about 5 months now and i'm VERY satisfied with it.

    rock on !
  5. If you prefer the hifi sound of SWR thats a great choice, but i personally would have got the SVT it is a great amp for those who love that smooth ampeg tone
