I once had impure thoughts. Oh, and I pluck my ear hair.
VERY nice, but it'll be interesting to see what the prices will be. One of their most appealing aspects was the low price.

    more info..
apparently, BASSNW got one in, without discreting anyone, which I by no means wish to do, i have been told that that was sent out early by mistake and the new ones will have a slightly different preamp-
so I am told, sorry for sounding like an unimformed idiot! :meh:

I'm a fan of the active Heir's with the fancy tops! I'd love to try one out. Does anyone know the the body woods for those? I'm guessing that it would be Poplar, but you never know. Also, which brand electronics will they be using. Mike tends to use the Bart systems, but maybe they will be using something else to keep the cost down.

Depending upon the actual street price, it sounds like the new active Kingston is a great deal still.

Yeah, I'm betting they'll probably go for around $100 more than the passive ones. Still a good deal.

Anyone know if the pickguards will still be available as an option on these new active versions? I like the look of them, especially on the Heir.

They make an ash body version now? Very cool.

Are you sure they didn't mean alnico, as in the type of magnet used in them? :)

No! I called it first! :p

I really love that color... I don't really care for the truss rod cover though, they should make it match with the fretboard or the body like they do with the American MTDs. I wonder if THG Knobs or anyone else would be able to do something like that. Another thing...I wonder how it would look with the knobs that are used for the USA series basses. Hmm. :)

That body is incredibly nice though.

I e-mailed Mike Tobias with this question a few weeks ago, and he said it would be at least a year before any Kingston or Heir 6-stringers would possibly be available.

I would probally retrofit a type b hipshot on it also I did that on my old kingston and it added alot

if anyone finds out about the truss rod covers being remade in wood some one drop me a line please because I would love to retrofit my 2 grendal 5 strings :)

for an MTD Grendel once i went to the local Home Depot and got some small pieces of mica- they have the samples in many colors and wood grains, i was able to match the wenge fingerboard pretty close, later, i did the same with a small piece of maple, for a maple fingerboard Grendel i traced the shape of the plastic cover and sanded until it matched, it worked out great.
