    This is my first 5 string ( $700 + tax )
I bought it to help get a slap sound which I'm new to- I exclusively play finger style only.

I only want to learn slap on new bass and I figured I might as well learn 5 string as well.
My old J bass is set up high action which I like
My friend said low action is more favored for slap style.

Is this ibanez a smart choice for slap ?
    Thanks

String height is not dependent on bass guitar models. You could get low action on your jazz if you wanted to.

While certainly possible, id say you may struggle with the SR's tight string spacing.

So you are suggesting I save the money and every time
I have a pop type gig. I lower my jazzs action. Them raise back up?
It never occurred to me that that was an option !
Do other players do this ?
    Thank you
