Joe Barden has released a P-Style pickup that is a drop-in replacement for any 4-string Fender P-Bass style instrument.

I've yet to hear this pickup in an instrument, but if Barden's Jazz pickups are any indicator, this should be one hot pickup.

Barden pickups are passive, but they're hot (high output), beefy and articulate. I need someone to trade in a P-Bass so I can put this into a bass and hear it :)

    I have a P bass and it's my birthday.

    :p

(it's not really my birthday, but I can change that in my profile if it will help)

Well, you WILL have another shipment headed your way in 2-3 months... perhaps the P-Bass pickup fairy will work some magic?

    I'll think about it.
Hey, by the time it gets through belgian customs it will be my birthday.

The SD Quarter Pound SPB-3 I have in my TF is really hot, and has a bit scooped sound. I love it.

But I love to try those Bardens out one day, hot pickup will suit me.

I was wondering how long it'd take you to get these in stock!:D

I need to get one sometime, I have a few P-Basses which it migh suit.:)

You wouldn't have a rough idea what shipping would be on one, or two?

Barden & Roscoe - well, I keep pushing that idea on Frank @ Joe Barden every time I talk to him. He's definitely thinking about it, and I do think it will happen sooner or later. Honestly, the more of you guys that call or email Frank and tell him it's a good idea, the more likely it is to happen :)

Darkstrike - shipping on a single pickup to Ireland would be $30-$40. Shipping on two pickups would be... FREE!! I'm so anxious for people to try these, I'll take that hit on the first few that I sell.

Billy - I just received my shipment from Barden, so I'll have your pickups bound for Ireland this afternoon! That's right everyone, pickups is plural!!

I can't wait to hear what you think! I still need a P-bass traded in so I can install this pickup and do some before/after clips.

Fantastic, Greg! I'm delighted, I just couldn't say no to such a generous offer!:D

When I get them, I'll try and do some clips too, one shall be going into a fretless/passive, and one into a fretted/active, so I should get a good scope of what they can do.:)

    Well du-uhhhh.

It would be silly to have only one part of the split coil.

Not wrong. We should take it as a compliment.
