I just traded for a 93 musicman stingray fretless and am having a small problem. The normal problem of the d and g strings being too low volume-wise is excessive on this bass. My other bass I adjusted the pickup and it was fine, this one is more difficult. The d string is fine actually on this one, but the g string is really low in volume. I am thinking about going to another pickup system because I love the way the bass plays, but the g string not cutting through the mix sucks. Any other ideas to not have to change the pickup system I would greatly appreciate.

I once had impure thoughts. Oh, and I pluck my ear hair.
Well, you can keep the same pickup "system", but have it wired in series instead of parallel. That's what I did with the MM pickup configuration on one of my basses and it seems to be the prevailing advice for remedying that problem.
