How are you making the open and depressed valve symbols there?

And the good news is that once you get the hang of this horn, all valved brass use the same fingering system. So you will have a head start on all of them. Valve trombone is a fun one. It's in bass clef, so you can use the same licks on your bass. That's a winner.

I played trumpet throughout high school..and just sold my Bach Strad 37. :bawl: Needed the cash. A couple good trumpet sights I belong to are TrumpetHerald.com and TrumpetMaster.com Check them out.

I've still got my 37. Custom lead pipe, a few other tweaks. I don't play it anymore (at least at the moment), but I can't bring myself to sell it. I've been all over the world with that horn.

wow small world a bass and trumpet player just like me and from Mn!!!! :hyper: I am sure you know or atleast have heard of Manny Laureano principal trumpet of the Mn Orchestra. awsome dude so cool and obviously an excellent musician. He gave my neice and I a private lesson at his house two years ago....Monette trumpets are expensive but so nice....one of the best trumpet lessons I have ever had.

I love bass but you got to admit trumpet is awsome especially when played like this

I thought french horns were different. At any rate, most valved brass use the same fingerings, though they're not always in the same key.
  14. why would i learn to play valved trombone, i already play slide trombone, and it is way cooler.

Hey, had to put those years of college to use somehow. ;) The fingerings, that is, not the font stealing. :D

And in response to another post, French Horn is different. Trumpet and Baritone are identical. I THINK valve trombone and tuba are different as well. If I remember correctly, fingerings for a tuba's B flat major scale are the same as a trumpet's C major scale.
