It was actually yesterday, but I started wrenching on it today to get it back to "not sitting for years" condition.

It's an '85 Honda XR100. Runs pretty good, actually. starts 1st kick every time. Still tearing the carb apart for a good cleaning, though.

Scored it for $350 because it doesn't have a title (not required for riding in OR) and the clutch doesn't work. Cable is moving stuff, but it believe that the clutch plates are just stuck together from sitting.

Front tire is bad, too. But I scored a basically new front tire for $10 and a similar condition one for my big bike (yz250) for the same price!

Is that thing not a bit small for a grown man?

Nah, a 100 is still fun in the twisty stuff. Not much top end though.

Thats so cool....as for the clutch, try driving it in whatever gear you can and while youre moving, play around with the clutch. Sometimes just the heat of the engine will get it working again.
    Best of luck!

At 6'3" and 160 pounds, I can fit on it astonishingly well, actually haha. I got it mainly as a beater, "take it to parties and let everyone that wants to ride it, ride it" kinda bike. And I enjoy having something around to work on and learn about.

If I want real power, I've got the yz250 2-stroke sitting on a stand in the barn ready to ride.

It's the perfect size for my sister to learn how to ride on, too. So it serves a few purposes for a very low price.

I'll do that clutch trick soon as I get the oil changed and the carb back together and on the bike!

A friend that I used to race with was tall and lean, and awful fast on a 100cc Super Rat (wha-zat?).
I think he raced it like I did, with a 1/8th turn throttle...

Sorry. I thought the OP was the Norwegian guy.

When I was younger full sized people would ride 100 cc bikes.

Bultaco. Haven't heard that in years.

I sure your bike has more power than anything from the 60s.

Oh, I will. Gonna take it over to the neighbors to bomb around on their track soon as it's all back together. There will be many a beer and grown man involved in riding the **** outta this thing.

Yeah, there's something to be said about pushing something that wasn't really supposed to go that fast to (or over...) the limit, as opposed to half-assing something seriously fast.

  19. I used to have an old Suzuki 350DR and we had a neighbor with a little 90cc Honda he used to let me use. Whenever I had a friend over there was always an argument about who got to ride the Honda, that little bike was fun as hell.

First bike I ever rode though was a 60's (I believe) Bultaco, and I loved that little bike!

  20. Totally. My buddies and I used to have a few POS 100's and would flog them on this crummy little track we made in the woods next to the freeway. We almost never got off the gas at all - you slowed down by stuffing it into the corners. Hugely fun stuff.
