Well, the FedEx lady by yesterday and dropped this off:

    http://talkbass.com/forum/attachment.php?postid=820284

It's an '88 Pedulla MVP-4, which I got from our friend EvoMan in the classifieds forum. I took it, strings still loose, to a jam with friends 10 minutes after I got it. I am amazed how reponsive this bass is. to this day, all my basses were just tools, but it is obvious I am going to have a relationship with this instrument.

My friends were also very impressed. One of them said I should name the bass and for once, I thought it was a great idea. The working title is Samantha.:)

Sorry I'm gushing. I am just *very* stoked. I might get a 5 string when the time is right, but I can wait...

If things don't go well between you two, can I have Samantha's number?

    Congrats on the Pedulla, Blackbird.

    That's a big "if", Jason.

An MVP 4 is high up on my list of basses that would be more than awesome to own. Nice score.

  10. I own/have owned a lot of basses but my Pedulla Buzz is still plays the best.
It may be the fact that the serial number is 666.
Either way all of my others are compared to the Buzz.

  11. NIce bass man. Im gonna get a pedulla rapture soon. I think i might name it "pesqualli" lol

Personally I've never liked the body shape of those Pedulla's, but to each his own. There's no arguing with the exceptional workmanship, playability, and tone though - top notch all around. Congratulations. My custom Jazz and homemade P both have that same Schaller bridge - it is a very very nice piece of hardware. Be careful when you change the strings though, you'll invariably change the spacing.

I have another bass with the same bridge. I've never had a problem.

I have owned two Buzz basses.
I must admit, they are well made, good woods,
but I never liked the sound of the PJ-Barts.
And way to much finish on back of neck. slow to play.Single soapbar Rapture sounded better to me.
