I just got a EB mm stringray the other day in white, and I am going to have a custom pickguard made for it. I have it narrowed down to a few options, but maybe you people could provide some input and help me choose just one. I photoshoped (hastily and poorly) my ideas onto a picture of a stringray which is identical to mine.
please, help me and go to
    www.picturetrail.com

and in the blue column in the left hand side there is a box above which says 'visit album.' type hibeam and go then you can see the pictures....

    Thanks!

I like "Mamy" and Single soupcan
The first one looks a little bit too 1984 and the tile soupcans looks cluttered.

Persoanlly, I don't like any. I'd go with either a b/w/b or a mirrored guard.

If you definitly want one of those, I'd suggest you get a clear guard & just place a picture unneath the guard. If you get a p/g cistom made with that print on it, it might eventually come off.

I don't like any of them. I think the idea of a clear pickguard is good. You can just take it off and put whatever you want under it, then when you get tired of it, change the picture.

Tortise shell on white? Ugh...reminds me of vomit...

Unfortunatley, there are some ugly scuffs under it.

The whole clear thing with the picture under it idea is cool, but again, it would have to be done well and cover the entire pickguard area due to some scuffs.

You could do that very easily. Just place the pickguard over the picture, trace it, and very carefully cut it out. Then the picture would be exactly the same size as the pickguard. Then the entire area under the pickguard would be covered.

Do they make clear pg's for the SR5? I just got my ray custom painted a flip flop color that goes from a red/magenta, down to a yellow/gold, and every colot in between. But if I went with clear, I would have to change PU's, the white would look butt ugly being the only white on it. Are the pickup covers easily replaceable?

Heres a pic of the magenta tone.....

to the gold tone. The color changes don't really show well in pics, but you get the point. For all the purists having a fit someone did this to a ray 5.....when I got it, he was a horrible looking trans purple, and was quite beat up. Now it is in new condition, with a 1 of a kind paint job, and is the best playing/sounding ray 5 I have set my hands on. I only have about $850 total in the bass, and I doubt I will ever part with it.

Heh, an Andy Warhol fanatic, never thought I'd actually see one.

The soupcan somewhat looks okay to me but when you turn the bass in a playing position all those pictures don't look good.

Can someone explain to me how the hell Andy Warhol dies twice?

if it has to be one of your designs, I'd go with "Mamy", but I think a white or mother of pearl would look great. The clear one is a great idea if you like to have pics.

    keep groooovin'
