Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by semborg, Mar 25, 2006.

  1. Anthony was kind to tell a customer in UK to send his unused black pickup cover to me :)

I haven't installed it parmanent yet I want your opinions first.

    valenti2001.

    valenti001.

    valenti2002.

    valenti2003.

Also I have modded the electronics a little bit by removing the Treble 2khz knob and instead using its position for a Passive tone control.

    1 Master volume
    2 Pickup blend
    3 Passive tone
    4 Bass (40hz) (Pull/push for active/passive)

    Hope you like it ;)

You know, you probably won't want to hear this but I think the bass would look better without the guard and p'up cover - sorry

  3. Killer bass! I love maple with black blocks, it looks awesome.

Oh yeah looks ace install it

  6. Was it you?

I can't remember who the poster was, my mother throwed away the package before I know.

I am really thankful for your kindness. I became so happy that people can be so kind to eachother even if they live very far away and don't even know you. Thank you very much!

A magnificent instrument- I wouldn’t change a thing. Besides, you’ll have greater tonal options without the cover.

  9. True, but I find out that I mostly never play at the area where the cover is located.

While I am not really a fan of covers, the black one will look much better than chrome IMHO. If you like it, put it on there.

+1. If you find that you don't like it or that it hinders your playing in some way, simply take it off.

I say go for it, as I think it looks awesome.

I love the cover, especially as a Marcus Miller Jazz owner, I've found that it influences my playing in more than one way, and I kinda like it. Go for it, you can always take it off!

It's supposed to block static that you might pick up from nearby electrical devices, right?

originaly it was for cosmetics I believe, I like the way it looks and I played a Ric with a cover and I thought I would have a problem with it but nothing of the sort. I liked it, GO FOR IT!

    Bass is gorgeous.

You should decide on the cover for yourself, but if it was me, I'd pass.
