New pre amp for Euro LX?

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by Nickthebassist, Mar 28, 2005.

  1. Ok, I'm looknig for something that's boost and cut, rather than all boost. It can't be uberly high output(think about +15dB, like a warwick Thumb). Ideas?

EMG BQC. 3 band, cut/boost and lower output. I have it in all of my Spectors.

If everyone else can access www.google.com i assume that you can too.

  8. Ok kool. How much would that cost to fit?(roughly) Also, you say it's 3band.....does that mean an extra hole has to be drilled or is a stacked knob used? How much do they cost?

The layout is V/B/Concentric B/T and Concentric M/f, so no more holes to drill. I have seen them for 125 everywhere.

  10. Sounds good. I'll see if the Bass Gallery stock em.

  11. Poop, The Bass Gallery have nothing about the preamps, just some stuff about the pickups. Hmmm, where else might stock em?

I have no idea where this is in relation to you. All I know is that it is closer than anything on this side of the pond.

guitarpartsdepot.com, I am not sure they ship oversees.

  15. They don't stock EMG. I also did a search on Ebay. and nothing showed up. Do Selectron UK Ltd. have a webpage? I don't wanna start emailing anyone just yet as this is a future thing(gonna be about 1-2 months before I start to buy stuff).

Just as a side thing. Lets clear this up Nick. Are you or are you not happy with the bass? Last we read, you got the truss rod situation straightened out and the Sansamp thing straightened out and you said you loved the tone. Now you want to swap the pickups? It sounds to me like you may just be bored with playing if you're so obsessed with changing your tone because I'm sure you don't have BAD tone, you're just looking for excuses.

    Just my $.02

  18. I do like the tone, it's just the pre amp is too much for my needs. Plus the EMG BQC has more tonal variety.
