Greetings! Today I received (Finally) an Aguilar OBP-3 preamp, to install in my Warwick Streamer Jazzman, but this is something totally new for me, I have never replaced a preamp, and here in my city we don't have a qualified staff for this unfortunately, I know how to weld and I hope the diagrams that come with this, will help me, but my doubts are how to disassemble the original Warwick preamp.

Anyone knows how to do this? How is it attached in control cavity? I don't see any screws that hold it.. Maybe is attached with Knobs? double side adhesive tape?

Thankyou very much! I will record some Before/After tests

    Bump!

  3. most preamps are stuck on with double sided tape or sometimes glue!

  4. That's great, but you definitely don't want to do any welding in a bass!

You will want to solder your connections with 60/40 Rosin core solder, as opposed to welding them together.

And yeah, preamps usually get stuck in with double-sided tape.
