Just thought I would let you all know, it will be a pretty cool time for me soon, I have a project bass (4 stringer jazz) that I am building out of mostly second hand/ebay parts... I got the body off bassgear.com, the neck off ebay, the pups and electronics from another tb'er... the rest of the hardware is either left-overs, or from Warmoth. The body is a blue flamed maple top on what looks to be alder... hard to tell through the color on the back. I have some basslines actives in it right now, but I may change my mind and go for some passives... so if anyone has a nice set of passives to get rid of, let me know! anyway, the neck should be here monday, the rest of the hardware next week... I will get some in-progress pics of it all!

I can't wait to see the end result. I just ordered a black J body from the eBay seller that we bought the necks off of & it should come together well.

I'm using the parst that were on this bass to put on the black body & I might add a B/W/B pickguard, also.

I am not a fan of heavily figured tops... I like a nice light figure, and this one seems to be perfect for me! I love the color as well....

well, I may have thrown my money away on this body... the neck socket is all screwed up, and is not cut to match... so I may have to bastardize the neck socket to get a standard 2.5 neck to fit... so I'll either make it usable or I will check on warmoth!

:( It would be a shame to waste that beautiful body. It really is stunning. When in doubt, sand 'till it fits!
