Our new puppy of much discussion, Luba, arrived yesterday. She's a pure-bred Samoyed, and loves the snow as much as we would expect. She's still getting her bearings, is very quiet. She's only eight weeks old, but she has some pretty big paws so we're expecting her to be on the larger side when she's full grown.

    Luba!

That thing's adorable. Don't ever spill red wine on her or you'll never get the stain out. I always wanted to get an all-white Husky or Samoan and name it "Snowplow."

  3. That is the cutest dog I have ever seen.

Where did you get him/her? I want one.

I'll ask my wife if we can Scotchgard her!

She came from a breeder in Oregon. We were having a bitch of a time (ar ar) finding a Samoyed puppy in the Midwest, so we had to look elsewhere.

    awwww... that thing is adorable!

I read on some dog website that Samoyeds are supposed to bark alot. That'd be the only thing that would make me hesitate to get one.

My friends got a Samoyed a year ago - she proved to be disasterous to their furniture, and to pretty much anything she set her eyes on. Be sure to keep her occupied!

That's Carl. Don't the rest of you have armed guards at your house?

We picked her up at O'Hare. She flew in her crate from Oregon. That dog is more well-traveled than I am this year!

They're a breed that needs a lot of exercise and walks to avoid destructive habits. Most of our furniture is old and crappy anyway. :D

Congrats. Sammies are great dogs. Y'all have lots of fun together.

Well yeah. There is a couple outside my cell, a few that walk me to and from the lunch and rec rooms, and there are tons more all over the building.
