Behold... My old rig: My New Rig: The idea is to cross my fingers and try to get the TH500 and 2x112's to replace the big rig. There is definitely a difference in weight, but also in "weight" between the two, but I'm optimistic. I'm not sure if it's going to work out for my reggae gigs, but we'll see. If I can get by with the small rig, I'll eventually sell off the LM-II and 2 Markbass cabs. I'm hoping I have to! I'll try to update this thread with how things turn out after i get some gigs under my belt with the new rig.
Sweet new rig! I haven't had a chance to try the Aguilar but man is that a visual improvement! Congrats
Ha. I used to really like the Markbass stuff visually. maybe because it was mainly reggae & went with the color scheme But I agree.
OH, got it. Yeah, it's weird, I wonder why peopel think 2 matching cabs is better than 2 different cabs? ...JOKING!
Thanks! actually what got it all started was that there was something in the high mids of the Markbass stuff (likely the cabs) that I just couldn't dial out. I had to make massive cuts to the mids, which took away all my glorious tone One thing led to another, and bingo - There was a whole new rig in my house. Funny how those things happen.
I now what you mean. I have to set my Markbass with the mids flat or scooped to get the tone I'm after.
Wow wow wow. That is a beautiful rig. Reminds me of glory days when amps were crafted and detailed. You have a work of art there my friend. Congrats.
TWO great rigs ! I bet that if you played that MarkBass amp thru a Hartke 4x10 or 2 xl210s that you wouldn't lose that wonderful MB middy hit
I approve Ive tried the TH500 with just one of those cabs and I was impressed. I was more impressed with the cabs weight.
I have the TH 500 and two of the DB112NT cabs. I played outdoors with little to no PA support and played big inside gigs with them. Trust me, you will love this rig. I still have never pushed my rig. It is plenty loud enough and the tone is exactly what I want. Can't say enough about Aguilar stuff. Best gear I personally have ever played.
