His Mustang is all over the newest Paramore album.

He also has his own sub forum here.

Ah yes. Paramore. With their song....um.....

I'm sure he's wonderful. I just thought it was funny seeing his name along side Hendrix and George Harrison. I can't be the only one who's never heard of him before today. Same thing happened with the announcement of Eva Gardner's bass.

Agreed. Great player, but not a lot of name recognition there. And he's not actually in Paramore, just their producer. Regardless, I dig that Mustang.

Yeah, but Beck is pretty darn popular, and he's been his bassist and musicial director forever.

Either way I think he falls in a category of bassists who might not be incredibly popular among other bassists as a whole, but are popular among a gear-centric group of bassists who are likely to buy his signature bass.

    Hard Times. 39 million views.

Told You So. 13 million views.

He's not a member of Paramore, but played bass on their last album and produced their last two albums.

He's actually a fairly big name (especially among bassists) and has been attached to a lot to musicians other than what I mentioned, I'd highly doubt you've never heard his work (ever watched Californication?)

If you're into session players and hired sidemen, you most likely know him. Not everyone knows Willie Weeks or Chuck Rainey or Will Lee or Jerry Jemmott or Lee Sklar, etc. But, they are all on more recordings than Jimi Hendrix and George Harrison.
  10. Why couldn't it have been a P-bass!

JMJ is a talented dude and I dig his choices in basses.

To be honest I could care less about who's bass it is. It's a really cool looking bass regardless.

JMJ has his own sub-forum in the Ask A Pro section. ;)
And I have no idea who Eva Gardner is. :)

Just checked it out. Dig it.
What's the street price gonna be? The words "Limited Edition" worry me a little.

Lee Sklar alone is probably on more recordings than both of them combined.

    Or, Jimmy Lee Sloas.

Like that scene from Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid. The studio cats always generate a "who are those guys?"

I dig the George Harrison Telecaster. 'Cause I wanna Telecaster.

I just found out who he was, even though I've seen him play several times. Oddly enough I found him here when I saw a thread about the bass line in "Paper Tiger" from Beck's album Sea Change (my favorite of his) and he was the one responding. Seems like a cool dude.
