After gassing for a long, long time, I finally have a new Roscoe SKB3006 coming to me. Just got off the phone with David at the Groove Shoppe, and confirmed everything. I have been wanting one of these basses for a few years now. I have talked to a couple of dealers about ordering a Roscoe, and would have gone that route, but this one at the Groove Shoppe had pretty much every option I wanted. And the top on it jumped out at me more than any top on any bass I have seen. Here's a pretty good pic of it off of the Groove Shoppe website. When I get the bass I will post a few much lower quality pics of it. http://www.thegrooveshoppe.com/xcart/files/cache/c49a61f31d202f5242cbeb263dbbae43.jpg Anyways, I have to say that dealing with David at the Groove Shoppe was great. Prompt response to emails, and a very nice guy to talk with on the phone (even though my call was pretty brief--I am not much of a talker on the phone ) And I have to, of course, say thanks to Gard for giving me all the info on the bass to begin with.
That's a hell of a beautiful bass- the woods used are what make or break a Roscoe in the looks department IMO, and that one may be the nicest I've seen.
That is the main reason that I ended up jumping on this one. I think it is the most beautiful Roscoe I have seen, and it actually had the ash body, which was a requirement for me.
Sweet!! Congrats Ryan!! That's a gorgeous instrument. May it serve you well!! Oh, the Roscoe GAS is almost killing me now!!!
I have a photo of this bass as the wallpaper on my computer. It's the close-up shot of the body. Beautiful bass!!
Damn man!!!!! That is one sweet looking Roscoe. That top is killer! Congrats on taking the plunge, you will NOT be disappointed with the Roscoe tone! I've had mine for a little over a week and haven't put it down much yet. Which preamp does it have? Bart or Aggie? What wood is the fretboard? Shawn
Thanks for the comments. It has the Bart pre in it, which should work just fine for me. My buddy's SKB 3006 has that preamp also, and I really liked how it sounded in his bass (his has a Spanish cedar body and maple top). The fretboard is Bolivian Rosewood. Can't wait to get it here.
"The Brain" finds a home!!! ...man, as good as that bass looks, wait until you HEAR it! You gotta let us know when you get it, Ryan!
