New Sadowsky B-string gauge

Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by tightbidness, May 10, 2004.

  1. I'd like to put a set of Sadowsky Bright Nickel strings on my 5-string bass. The bass currently has a .128 gauge B, but the new Sadowsky B is .130. Is it necessary to have the nut slot re-cut? Will I risk damaging the nut if I put the .130 on the bass? Thanks for your time.

I put a fatty .136 B (flatwound) on mine a coupla weeks ago, and it sits just fine in the nut. No problems so far.

  3. Thanks for your response, lump. You went from a .128 to a .136!? I'm surprised it fit in the nut slot.
