These are recording's from a Japan Bass Magazine. They reviewed these basses and recorded 3 song clips of each bass. Each folder contains three clip of each bass.

You can either decide which folder you like best via poll or try and match the sound files with the bass you think fits.

    Basses order does NOT reflect poll order;

-Nordstrand NJ 5 string, Nordstrand Dual coils, Bolt-on.
-Jerzy Drozd 5 string, Slim pickups, Neck-through.
-Benavente SCD 5 string, Benavente Wide pickups, Bolt-0n, Chambered.
-Ritter Roya 4 string, Ritter Wide pickups, Bolt-on.
-Elrick 5 string, Bartolini Soapbars, Set-neck.
-Conklin 7 string, Conklin Soapbars, Neck-through.
-Daniel Fernandez 7 string, Benavente Wide pickups, Neck-through. sounds/

[Edit] I added more info on each bass.

They were all a little too bright and snappy for my taste, but I like #3 the most. Good post!

    My favs in order:

#2 is a ballsy in your face sound that I really like, but I don't know how versatile it would be. #1 is a little more refined.

    Great post !!!
I`ll be downloading the clips later at home.

Brian, I was surprised to see a "Daniel Fernandez" among those top basses. Do you think his basses are at the same level of a, for example, Jerzy Drozd or a Ritter ?

Daniel Builds a wonderful bass. The craftmenship and playability is awesome. The Fernandez's he's been building for the USA have been with Kent Armstrong's however the 7 string has Benavente Wide's with Daniel's 2 band eq system.

I think his basses hold up very well with this group, and the poll will tell.

Thanks and I'm glad everyone is digging the poll.

I was torn between #3 and #4... 3 seemed to be a little dark and the slap tone wasnt my favorite. 4 had the body and fatness of 3 with a little snappier tone and alot better slap tone IMO.. so I went with 4 - final answer :smug:

... so how long do we have to wait for the results?? :D
  12. Good stuff, #2 and #4 sound great, but I'm feel 'N' #1 the most... :bassist: :bassist: :bassist:

I was not much a fan of the slap on bass 7. All of the basses sound really good but I'd probably say bass 5 is my favorite.

    Minor correction Brian,
My bass has Dual Coils in it.
Cool poll. I have to get to my good speakers to see if I can figure out which bass is mine...

I voted for number 7. It has a growl in the lower range and an interesting ring in the upper registers. I'm almost sure its a 7 string, but which one im not sure. All the other basses sounded too conventional for my tastes.

Looking at the list of basses though, you couldnt go wrong with any of the above mentioned basses.

    Was #7 the conklin?
