New speaker for my floor monitor.

    I have a Yamaha SM112III 8 ohm floor monitor, which recently took a nasty fall. The horn still works, but the speaker doesn't even move. Can anyone recommend a good replacement?

    If you haven't already, remove the driver and check it out. It could be something as simple as one of the leads becoming disconnected during the fall.

    It is worse than that. The voice coil is frozen. I took the grill off and gently pushed on the basket itself, and it won't even move. DOA. SOL.

    Replace it with the proper Yamaha part, otherwise it may not sound at all right.
