I have a 300 W barcus-berry made in the 60's. The amp has been resaudered because it was pretty thrashy sounding when I bought it. It still has the origional speakers. So I ask, will buying new speakers upgrade the sound quality? Some one please help me.

  2. Or send the original speakers out to be reconed...

A lot of people on this Forum have used Weber

I think new speakers, properly mated to the cab, or your reconed speakers, would help. I'm not familiar with the old Barcus-Berry amps, how about posting pictures--especially of the back and internals?

    Thanks for the help.

I'll see if I can get some images posted.
