I kinda like
I like the colour. The PU config also looks good.
I like the body shape, not so much the tuners or headstock though.....
I agree, I don't really like the lollypop tuners
headstock reminds me of an ATK, a little..
Kinda like a mirror image of the ATK headstock.
who is making that? He's been with Fender for a good long while now, has he moved on? I dig the color for sure.
as some people already said and I agree, it looks like an ibanez
interesting PU placement--i bet it gets some good tones!
what's the brand?
Yeah... I'd be looking to swap them for clover-leaf tuners. Otherwise, it looks pretty nice.
I'm guessing Ibanez.
It looks to me like the headstock says Washburn.
That's what I was thinking, and Stu already has a signature Washburn acoustic bass.
I'm not inclined to believe it's an actual Stu Hamm endorsed model - there is no mention of anything on Stu's webpage, Fender is still selling the Stu Hamm Urge II Model, and there appears to be no info on the web regarding a new Stu signature model.
To the original poster - please share where you found this, and who the builder is.
Stu is a Facebook friend and fellow Hartke guy. His profile picture has the new bass on it, and I"m thinking its a Washburn. He already has a Washburn signature acoustic bass.
One thing I noticed in this picture is that the bass has a hipshot d-tuner.
Here is a pic of Stu with the bass from his Facebook page.
Right you are! He says its a Washburn, with the new EMGX pickups and Hipshot hardware. I wonder if he will still keep his Fender endorsement when these come out? Can't wait to try one - I've always liked the Urge models, and I'm interested to see how these compare.
I'm wondering though, so I guess I'll have to ask him, if its 32" or full 34" scale. I can't see it being 34" as he hasn't played that much since his original Kubicki endorsement.
Actually, he has played mostly 34 inchers since the Urge I. The Urge II has a 34" scale, and that has been his main bass for quite a few years now. I'm betting the new Washburn is a 34" scale as well.
imho the urgeII was epic this is meh
As of January 1, 2010, the Urge II bass has been discontinued by Fender after 20 years on the roster of Fender basses. The Stu Hamm Urge Bass was the first signature instrument from Fender.
