New To Bass.. Can anyone help?

    Well i just purchased my first bass today a fender P bass for $250 (canadian) brand new, and i don't know much about bass.. i don't really know theory or what to start off doing.. My friend taught me some crematics.. but he plays guitars.. if anyone can help me please add me to msn at Gorillaz_nana@hotmail.com .. help would be appreciated

    Get a teacher. A real bass teacher, not a guitarist who plays bass.

    Yea bro... take our advice now before you waste ur time and money and end up hating the bass... if you get a good bass teacher (they aren't expensive at all) you will LOVE the bass :) I play the Violin and GUitar and bass is by FAR my favorite

    Yeah thx guys, my friend has a guitar teacher name shawn.. well his brother plays bass and they charge $17.50 i think for half hour lesson, anyways my friend said there good and very nice people and helped him a lot, but i won't be able to get in for like 2 weeks because of school just starting up.. is there any thing i can practice in the mean time?
