New to Boss OC-3 Pedal

Discussion in 'Effects [BG]' started by Stingraymund, Feb 3, 2005.

  1. I recently scored a Boss OC-3 Octave pedall off of eBay. Aside from making my fretless do a pretty good Minimoog synth bass imitation, can anyone share any other cool Octave pedal tricks?

Well aside from using the drive setting to do your little Mini-Moog impression, the OC-3 is capable of more subtle things as well. You can use the OC-2 mode to give your bass a phat sound by turning the octave 1 knob all the way down and mixing in a small amount of octave 2 with your clean tone. Other than that, the only other tricks of this pedal are exactly what it's designed to do. Just have fun and experiment.

I have OC-2. For that synthy sound (Octave 1 full, Octave 2 zero, direct zero), add a little touch of fuzz or distortion to make it more intelligible. Do I need to mention to crank envelope filter wiht it? :bassist:
