Just received Valenti #141 from MaddAnthony_59. Wow, lovely huge modern reggae sound. Gonna lower sea level with the cooling power of the "He 'e Roa" hahahaha!

    Mahalo to Nino and Tony!

And folks, that's one them thar dreaded 35" scale 5-strings.

Actually the neck is thinner front to back than any other bass I have, except for a '65 short scale Silvertone/Danelectro dolphin nose.

Despite that, I am thinking the action could go a hair lower, lol.

Whew—we be talking some serious low end with a gk mb800 and a 15/6/1. Dying to try this baby out with one of the bands.

I like the thinner front to back cut on a neck, especially a 5 stringer. I bet it feels nice. Good luck with it Jim.

Nino beat me to it. :smug:

The position of the pickups is also the "non-Fender Jazz" positiion, and the electronics pack a big boost only punch. They are also dead quiet.

Very nice looking. IMO 35" isn't a problem if the upper horn is nicely long(that one is, reachs the 12th fret) and the bridge is plopped on at the very end of the body. How far the nut is from your body is where most people are really getting their longer scale bass blues from. YMMV.

That color - I'd want to stick a palm tree and a girl in a bikini on it. Like tropical waters.
