Hi, I've been a regular at the BG section for quite some time, and I just today received my first upright. It's Tim Sway's Kay '51 C1, and it's SWEET! I got it so that I would be able to really hone my jazz chops on the "legitimate" instrument, which will not only help my skills, but also should help my credibility and hireability as a player. I'm surrounded by amazing jazz guys at Berklee, and now I have the opportunity to not look like a poser when playing jazz!

    Psyched is me! :hyper:

That's great, Snarf! I'm don't know about how you'll find it, but picking up the real bass was the most rewarding and all around best thing I ever did for myself. The learning curve is steep, but I'm sure you'll manage. Stick around on this side, there's a lot to learn :).
