Looks beautiful! I may eb mistaken but it appears to be carved, maybe just a hybrid. The solo FB extension is a nice addition and the bass has a nice and unique finish. Upton has been good ot many guys here and they are held in high esteem across the boards.

Wow, pretty impressive. I like the figuring in the wood a lot.

That's one of the coolest-looking basses I've ever seen. Truly unique....

  5. Looks for all the world like a carved spruce top and nice flamed maple ribs and back, with 'antique' finish...i've a funny feeling it ain't gonna be in my price range. :crying:

Hey, Gary....the suspense is killing me. :hyper:

  6. I'm not shy. I'll give you $1200 RIGHT NOW. Call me the dealmaker.

  7. There was a price posted right at the upper right corner - $8,500.00.

  8. If I still had my '63 Fender Jazz to sell...better luck next time. :meh:

It would be cool if they offered that finish on the ply Hawkes models.

Mark, reading our updated description...or were you covertly in the shop? ;)

Mpoppitt, Pics soon to be updated...expect to see something along the lines of what you would see on the New Standard Basses though...not something as labor intesive as the antiquing we did on the Xu. We would go broke with the time it took to do that finish given the price tag we charge for the Lam Hawkes.

Lots of other very cool stuff in the next year still to come out though, you can be sure of that!

But a custom antique finish could be done for a price if the customer wanted to pay the extra for it. Right?
