been talking to the Roland Product rep this week.

he just e-mailed me a patch dump from his V-Bass, some new stuff, some from Germany, some from Caron, etc...

gonna check em out and post them to the yahoo vbass group.

if anyone else is interested, lemme know.

You should be glad you missed the ATL GTG, then--it was VBass-alicious!! :hyper:

  6. Hey Fred:
did you get the patch dump yet?
and is it posted over at the Vbass group page?
is it too much to ask for you to post em somewhere else (like your personal webpage). i had problems downloading from the yahoo site in the past (I use a Apple G5 and for some reason it won't even download a file of unknown extension).
Lastly, could you remind me how you did the patch upload into the Vbass.
    Much appreciated
    frank

I'd like to get a hold of those, myself. If you need a open place to post them, I can host from my site...

    hey all,

i have the patch midi files ready to go from Roland.

meaning, i've upped them to my personal site.

i haven't had a chance to go through and clean out the dupes. but, that will take some time.

    so, here it is!

    give credit where due!

i haven't even tried them yet, but i bet there are some gems!

  9. fred:
many thanks for all your effort.
Is the file really only 91K in size?

Sad part about this is, if your not a Vbass group member or a TB member you won't know that Roland has these files available. How unfair is that.
I know my friends w V-8 guitar units got fed up waiting for updates for their units. Roland was just too slow, then when they finally did make an major update available Roland decided to make a sell it as a whole new device.
    Thanks again
    frank

i know what you are saying.

but, in all fairness, these really aren't for public consumption.

i just bugged the poor guy for over a year for ANYTHING!

he's the same guy that said Lightwave Optical pickups were THE BEST MATCH for triggering the VBass!

glad i have my Zon/Lightwave hooked up!

i have a VG-8 guitar unit with a Roland Ready Strat.

when they came out with the VG-88, that's when a 3rd party wrote a patch editor librarian.

of course it won't work with the VG-8!!!

    ACK!

i'd love to see an editor for the VBass!
