I love tort with black, and the tele pickguard looks very cool.

Im having a black neckplate put on the back with black neck screws. That way it matches the black cavity cover.

yeah the knobs are going to be knurled chrome as follows:

    Volume (push/pull for active/passive)
    Tone (passive)
    Bass/Treble stack

Should prove to be nice... :hyper:

    That was unnecesary.

At any rate, congrats on the new bass!! I dig the pickguard shape, makes it look very Fodera-ish (I hope that's the right brand :meh: )

few foderas with pickguards and i think none of them with that shape, its more like a warrior (the model that comes with the picguard ;) ) or a Fender Urge II

thanks invisiman on the compliments; thanks embellisher that was kind of the theme I was going for.

Modern electronics, a more unique pickup, and a bit more exotic looking AAA Birdseye neck yet standard P-bass body ,72 Tele bass style p/g, and traditional color scheme to throw it back a few years...I cant wait!

Yeah except the two basses (Dirnt and Valenti) have completely different pickguards, different onboard electronics, different bridges, different fingerboards, different tuners, different pickups and completely different headstocks. Really the only thing similar about the two are that they both have P-Bass bodies and both have P-style pickups.

I have a feeling that Mike Dirnt would want to throw away his Fender if he could hear this. But then again Im sure Nino wouldnt pay Dirnt tons of money to have his name on this guitar either! lol!

Drints's bass is a custom shop one not the copy you can buy from fender's signature models.

I think the Urge II and the Warrior look very similar but I dont really think it looks like my bass too much. I think my bass looks like a 72 Telecaster Custom, but that is what I was kind of aiming for..

    Yeah I know.

My point was that I bet there are tons of basses out there that even Dirnt would like better than his custom shop bass, however, he is getting lots of cashola from Fender to play their instruments so he is probably bound by contract.

Even considering that his personal bass is a custom shop model the differences in the two still apply.

Very very nice looking bass. I hope that my financial situation will allow to purchase one of Nino's basses sometime in the near future. The pickguard reminds me a little of a Fender Roscoe Beck.

I like the way the Dirnt P looks but I haven't played one yet.
