New Valenti in the works!

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by west*coast*bass, Mar 4, 2006.

  1. Well, I decided in December to pull the trigger on a new Valenti 5. The bass will be ready in about a month. Here are the specs:

Ash Body w/Quilt Maple Top 5 String tuned E-C
Black Dye face w/solid black back
21 fret Maple neck with Ebony board
    Black hardware
    HipShot Ultra Lite Tuning gears
    HipShot B Style Bridge
    Nordstrand Fat Stacks
    Aguilar OBP-1 preamp
The Control layout of the bass would be in the "Poon" style:
-Volume with push/pull for preamp bypass
-Treble Boost with push/pull for Stack/Single Coil on neck pickup
-Bass Boost with push/pull for Stack/Single Coil on bridge pickup
    -Passive Tone Control

Here are some preliminary pictures from Nino...

At first I was wondering why you didn't go for the OBP-3 preamp, but then I saw the electronics configuration. Thats really quite interesting... I'm sure its going to the be a ridiculous bass. Congrats!

  7. Thank you, I am excited. As for the preamp choice, I am not a fan of midrange boost...
  8. That black-dye quilt is incredibly beautiful. I'm always in awe of Nino's work. I'm sure it'll sound even better, too!

Out of curiosity, would it have been possible to put a blend knob in there? Im looking to put some new electronics into my old bass (am learning about wiring etc as we ... i .... speak), and like this configuration a lot, but am curious as to whether it would be possible to throw in a balance/blend knob.

Kinda reminds me of the stealth Vanelti. That's gonna be one tasty axe!

    The more valentis the better.

  18. My preference is volume, volume. I think I can get a better range of tones with this configuration.

  19. I think we should. I'll let you know when it comes.
  20. Thanks Midnight and Hamzter, I agree!
