Wonder why they used Ash? I'm interested in the design, though I wish they had spaced the pickups out a little further.

I think warwick is slowly moving away from heavy woods like bubinga. They seem to like ash for a lot of their basses now. Just an observation.

I wouldve like a little more space between the pickups too. But it looks like a nice solid bass.
I just wanna hear some sound clips.

  10. mmmmmmmmm.........new warwick................snap out of it man!

  11. It's just the pup manufactuer logo - hit the x8 magnifier button. The coil taps look like they're just under the bridge.

+1 on the pup spacing - looks awful, but could give an interesting sound :D

  12. Is this Warwick's answer to G&L?

Yes the pickups are close together but remember Corvettes have small bodies, you really can't get them further apart and still leave room from that 24 fret neck for popping.

A pic for those who don't want to copy/paste.

  14. So it's basically a corvette with double humbuckers instead of jazz pups? I'm curious to know how that sounds. Are they making a 4?

  15. That's fine but it's the bridge pickup that's in the odd location.

I'd like to see them do something like that on a Thumb.

It'll probably cost more in most European countries. In Germany instruments are easily €100 cheaper then other countries. Looks like a cool bass though, I'd like to try it out, I wonder how it sounds..

I think that its a matter of $ rather than weight, the last LTD bolt-ons come in swamp ash to lower the price on the pluses, but the katana bass might be a good example about your theory.

BTW the corvette LTD 2004 is ugly compared to this
