While checking out a report on a writing session by "Jelly Jam," a side project consisting of Ty Tabor (King's X,) John Myung (Dream Theater,) and Rod Morgenstein (The Dregs, Jazz is Dead,) I noticed in the photos that Myung was using a modified version of his Yamaha signature bass. It appears that the space where the original pickups rest have been filled in and replaced by a single soapbar in the traditional Stingray position. The controls have also been changed - it's now sporting 3 pots (one looks to be stacked), and a mini-toggle. It's seems recording parts of "6DoIT" with a 'ray has rubbed off... Since dealers have been lowering their prices on RBXJM6's for a while, could this signal a new version of the bass in the near future?
