New Year's Eve Gigs??

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous [BG]' started by Chad Michael, Dec 18, 2002.

  1. Just wondering if anyone has scheduled a gig for New Year's Eve...? Details??

We ('NRG') will be at Curly's, one of the bigger clubs in the area. I originally thought we were making regular pay, but found out we're being paid double for NYE.

Nobody should ever play NYE for less than double of a regular night's take. Actually, I think triple is a better guage . . . sound companies will charge extra also.
  3. Agreed - when I heard regular take, I was p****d. I then found out that we're getting double and was relieved.

One of my bands is opening for the Mike Keneally Band on New Year's Eve. It should rule hugely.

I am playing a New Years Eve gig with my Funk/R&B band. We are playing at the Wildfire(St. Catharines, Ontario). It is a really nice Steak house. It should be a great gig(pays well too!).

Playing the best club in wisconsin - Luthers Blues - with Phat Phunktion. Making 2x scale but we're only getting paid normal rate because we need to start saving for our summer tour of europe :D

We have a NYE gig on South St. in Philly. We just played this club on Dec. 7th and had a great show, but I'm not really looking forward to this one. Too many bands, shorter set, 'party' tunes that I could do without, etc.

Most of all I'm just dreading the load in/out because I know there will be too many people inside, and no where to park. I'm sure I'll feel better once we're on stage though.

I forget the details on pay, need to ask the singer. I never really worry too much about pay though anyway. So long as we're not getting ripped, sall good.

This is my first NYE gig in some time, it's kinda nice. This is with my #1 band... we'll be getting 250% of our normal rate, that's not bad. The owner said that if he has a really good night (and by advance sales it looks like it will be) he'll throw us a few more bones... he's a good guy but I won't hold my breath.

First one off in as long as I can remember. Actually I'm looking forward to it. I think I've played the last 20 New Years eves straight. Getting double would be nice, but aroung here (the sticks) its usually 150% of normal. We did get double for the 2000 gig. We, my family and I want to wish everyone a safe and happy New Year.
  14. My band has NYE gig at a really nice club in Norfolk called D.C. Chase's. Some of the best lookin' women in town at that place! :D
  15. :D

Thx for the details... fun to see what TB friends are doing for NYE!!

    :)

i'm playing a place called Swig's in San Antonio. This will be the 6th time we play there this month. The only thing I don't dig about the place is that the drinks are very expensive.
