New York bass rentals?

i would be afraid that by the time you pay NYC prices for 2 months rental, you will have spent the same as if you had purchased the bass.
for example , i used to work in a shop in Fla where rental for an M1 keybard was something like $120 a night- but you could purchase one for around $1800- still some groups would rent them for weeks at a time, it made no sense.
