    Hi Forum!
My name's Fred, from Sweden. I recently bought some recording gear and now I am looking for a 5 string bass. I record metal and would like to have a bass that I can drop a whole step down to A for the B string (and the rest as well). I've heard some great things about Peavey Cirrus and someone said that a 35" bass would do the trick when tuning down.

    Any suggestions?
  2. You realize that most 5-string basses come tuned B-E-A-D-G right?

Hmm, it's a bit late over here!
I edited the question. I meant down to A! Sorry!

Welcome Metzik! You should find most of the answers to your questions here on Talkbass. As for tuning down and for the Cirrus: Tuning down is pretty much about the same for most basses, but yes, scale length is a factor. The Cirrus is an excellent bass, well worth every penny. -Luke
