Newbie: pics of left hand?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by queisser, Jan 13, 2006.

  1. Hi all,

This may sound silly, but as a beginner (don't have a teacher yet) I'm interested in seeing pictures of left hands, or rather of fret hands. I looked at some instruction books but I haven't really found many example pictures. I'm just interested in seeing how experienced bassist position their fingers on the frets and strings.

Also looking for suggestions for instruction videos and videos of live performances where they actually show the bassist.

    Thanks much,
    Andrew

The "normal" technique is one finger per fret. that is wht the majority of the teachers will have you do. Thumb resting on the back of the neck with one finger on each fret.. btw this should technically be in the technique or general instruction thread ;) Welcome to Talkbass!
