    hi everyone!! im a new guy so.. i have a ques.

    i have a friend hu uses a boss equalizer.. wats an equalizer for? is it a mini amphead?:p

    It will help you shape your sound to get the best tone you can from the overdrive. Would you be using the GE-7 as pictured, or the GEB-7 (I think that's the right order for the letters), which capable of the lower frequencies of the bass?

    EQ is quite simply the most versatile effect you can ever own. It solves all sorts of problems and creates an unlimited amount of tone options. And I'm not just talking about bass here - all instruments benefit. Every muso should learn about EQ.

    For example, I set the eq on my amp so that it sounds nice when I pluck with fingers. Then I set up the EQpedal so that my slap sound is punchier and slightly louder.

    That's just one way to use EQ, and there are literally hundreds...........

    I've got one stored away. I used it for years and years before upgrading to something fancier.
