Newbie questions about P-bass and J-bass

    I'm planning to get my first bass sometime this week.......... and i'm still deciding P-bass or J-bass

    i think i need some help here for choosing

    i have Fender standard P-bass and J-bass in mind

    and Squier MB-4

    which one do you gusy think i should get....
    the music i want to play are those Japanese rock music

    any other suggestions?

    Which one do you like better? I myself like the P better, but the J may offer more tonal versatility. I dont know what "Japanese rock music" is(sorry, Im old) so I dont know what tone youre looking for.

    My suggestion? Go to your local music store and test drive every Bass in your price range and let your hands/ears decide.

    Well - do a search and you will get hundreds of opinions and replies - rather than just one short message! And why should we repeat everything, every time some new poster appears?? !! :mad:
