I'm Slush. I've always been into music, but never had the confidence to stick to one instrument. Played the clarinet, guitar, and sung, but all of that vanished; I simply didn't have the confidence. Recently, I've been through some traumatic experience. Although I draw, I really truly needed something in my life. Something indescribable. So I picked up my step-dad's Fender Squier, and was glued to it, and learned the wrestling group DX's theme song. Ever since then, (it's only been a little over than a week) I have been researching for information, heeding advice well spoken from the bassists that immensely inspire me.

In that week's time, my confidence never slivered. I'm learning bits and pieces of songs, and I can read tabs. I probably have put maybe 5-6 hours total thus far in playing the bass. But I feel like I need to progress faster, faster! I'm becoming hard on myself, trying to instantly learn songs by bands like Queens of the Stone Age, and Cannibal Corpse. I would love to learn all sorts of techniques, create all sorts of beautiful music, and be able to possibly have a band one day. Feel free to just say, "Hey!" or give my advice or whatnot. I'll be around.

    ...I'm stubborn like that.

Hi dude! How TBers say, "welcome to the dark side". Bass is truly an incredible instrument to play, it's not heard, it's "felt". I am a 2 months' bass player. Learn the songs you like. It's not as hard as it seems at first. But don't overdo it for now. If your finger pads turn red, your fingers are sore, wrists hurt, then don't torture yourself, take a rest for a little while. Have fun! By the way, your username is awesome. I am a big fan of Slash!

Haha, thank you, but my nickname is actually Slush, for my undying love of slushies. But Slash is cool! <3 Haha, thank you. Actually, I play regardless of the condition of my fingers. I had a deep cut on my index finger, and was playing regardless. Haha, I'm stubborn. Thank you though, for the awesome advice, bro! I'm diggin' your name actually.
