I don't anyone started one of these last year. I figure it'll be interesting to look back at this thread in February and see how everyone's picks panned out.

    Colts - 11-12 wins.

AFC Division Clinchers: Colts, New England, Cincy, Denver
    AFC Wildcard: San Diego, Pittsburgh
NFC Division Clinchers: Philly, Chicago, St Loius, Carolina
NFC Wildcard: New Orleans, San Francisco

I reached on a couple of the NFC picks, but whatever.

    AFC Championship: Colts vs. Denver
NFC Championship: Philly vs. St Louis
SuperBowl: Colts vs. St Louis, Colts win a shoot out.

  2. AFC Division Clinchers: Pats, Indy, San Diego, Pittsburgh
    AFC Wildcard: Denver, Baltimore
NFC Division Clinchers: Dallas, Chicago, Seattle, New Orleans
    NFC Wildcard: Carolina, Philadelphia

SB XLII Winner: Pats over Saints

  3. God, I love football.

AFC Division clinchers: Pats, Chargers, Steelers, Colts
    AFC Wild cards: Broncos, Ravens
NFC Division clinchers: Eagles, Seahawks, Bears, Saints
    NFC Wild cards: Panthers, Rams

I think my picks are a little bit too status quo, but every time I try to pick a "dark horse" team, they end up finishing like 3-13.

I added NFC, AFC and Superbowl matchups. Those are guesses rooted in homerism.

Atoz is on the money. Pats win it all this year.

  6. Adam, you really have some kind of mental block, don't you???

    :D

The PANTHERS win the NFC South? Are you high as a kite? Have you watched ANY of the preseason games they played yet? I have, it's unavoidable here, and they will have a hard time beating 8-8 with the team they're putting on the field right now! They still have Steve Smith, who is indeed a future HOFer, but even he is showing his "rust" at this point. Their offensive line is swiss cheese, and their defense in general will look similar, maybe emmenthaler? ;)

    AFC

    East: New England
    West: San Diego
    North: Baltimore
    South: Indianapolis
    Wild Cards: Pittsburgh, Denver

    NFC:

East: Eagles (BARELY, they look very weak)
    West: Seattle
North: Chicago (by default, everyone else in that division SUCKS)
    South: Duh. (Saints, big)
Wild Cards: San Francisco, St. Louis

    AFC Champs: Indy

    NFC Champs: Duh again.

Super Bowl: Saints in a shootout (yeah, I am a homer! :D )

Im a huge colts fan, which is easy to say, but Im from Indianapolis. We went from so many terrible terrible heart breaking years to having such a great team. Its really hard to say. It seems as though the better the team the worse they do in pre season. The colts have an uncanny ablilty to find dimond's in the ruff. Hopefully that will happen again this year but I dont hold out alot of hope. I dont think the team will be bad, but not to the level they played at last year. If theyd just get a halfway solid defense theyd be unstoppable. I think our lopsided offense kills that idea though. I expect them to go far but winning another super bowl may be out of the cards this year. Im without TV for the last 2 monthes though so I cant really comment on any other teams besides the Pats. As much as it pains me to say that I think they have an amazing team this year. Brady is a standup guy and a great team leader. Its just so hard to hate that guy.

I still think the colts pats playoff last year will go down as the greatest football game ever played.

On paper and on Madden the Saint's are a good team, but if that was all that mattered than the Lombardi would have been in Kraft's nose-gold covered clutches since the Patsies picked up Adalius Thomas.

Hell, if preseason matters, than I guess the Colts are pretty awful in that respect. I went with a darkhorse because everyone and their mother's mother will be picking the Saints. Don't get too down if they miss the playoffs entirely. They are my opinions and you don't have to share them. In fact, this thread will be perfect to bring up how everyone was way off. Mainly you. :D

I went with the Saints because I didn't want Gard to diss on me for not picking the Saints.

I'll already hear about it from him for not picking the Saints to win the Super Bowl and send their entire 53 man roster to the Pro Bowl.

7 wins would be an improvement. Not unreachable, but they'll definitely have to make use of a weaker, but competitive division.

um....I'll say this quietly, so nobody notices.....:help:

    Lions go 8-8:bag:

  20. I actually think you're about right. They've got a good coach and some talent on offense, if Matt Millen would disappear, they might have a chance to be something in a couple seasons!
