I've been playing a lot more guitar than bass recently and was looking for a backup for my Les Paul that I use in my old school hard rock band. I saw this 1985 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul at Atomic Music in Beltsville, MD. It has a Roland Synth pickup on it and after doing some research, I found there were only about a dozen made. I have no interest in the Roland pickup, but I figured a Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul was at least worth a try. It functions just like a regular Les Paul when plugged into the regular input.

What a sweet guitar! This is going to be my main guitar and my other Les Paul will be relegated to backup duty. It's a little darker sound than most of the Les Paul's I've played (which I prefer), but the neck just feels incredible and the notes jump out at you. Unfortunately, it's as heavy as a standard Les Paul, but after playing bass all these years, there's no adjustment!

Thanks. I had to go out and smoke a cigarette the first time I finished playing it.

I'm a sucker for a black Les Paul and this one is no exception. That's a beautiful guitar. Interesting pickup rings on there. Congrats!
