Because Photobucket has chosen to in effect "take down" everyone's photos (unless you pay them), we have extended post edit time in the Luthier's Corner to UNLIMITED.  If you used photobucket and happen to still have your images of builds, you can go back and fix as many of your posts as far back as you wish.

nickel vs stainless steel frets

    Is there any huge difference between the two? Do they sound the same? (yes, I'm a neck "n00b" :smug: )

    Might be... I think I can hear a bit of a difference with bell brass, but might be because it's W that uses it and so I can't really compare just the fret material. Anyway, the difference in sound will not be striking, imo; however, their hardness is another question

    Does anyone other than Parker use stainless steel?

    That's what I'll be using when the time comes. Nothing like having to do a complete refret a couple years down the line...
