Hey, not one mention of The King this week on TB. For me, while I love some of his tunes, his legacy got clouded with Substance Abusing Elvis in the later years.

  10. I'm jealous of him, i was watching his performance thingy on tele and everytime he moved, winked, sang, breathed, stayed alive........the girl's were screaming i would love to have that happen, i have to admit he was a good performer and his drummer kicked serious woooooshting.

his bass player on the live stuff kicks serious booty too.

  12. Yeh i forgot to mention him, although i prefer bassist's who move about a little if you know what i mean, i'm not expecting him to jump around but ya know get in the groove........i'll be quiet now.

  13. Well, he must have found a new place to dwell... you know, down at the end of Lonely St.

Yea. Jerry Scheff did most of his live stuff in the late '60's and early '70's and he was one scary cat! Scheff said in an interview that he did all that stuff using just his bird finger on his plucking hand. Wow!
Sure, Elvis died on the crapper but is that any reason to Treat Him Like a Fool?

  18. "Very promising on bass is Elvis."--
Paul McCartney after the Beatles jammed with Presley on "I Feel Fine" in 1966 or so.

Oh, what could have been...Presley giving Jamerson and McCartney a run for their money! :D
