    It's almost offical.

Pending passing a physical and a criminal background check, with which I don't forsee any problems, I will be a RETIRED Police Officer, and will be working as a Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment Case Manager. I've been wanting to get into the mental health field for a while, and through my contacts in CIT Training, which I lead in a 3 County area, I've found a good opportunity.

27 years at my current department, and 28 years in law enforcement is enough. In the coming months, especially after I'm officially retired, I'll be sharing a few of my real thoughts on the law enforcement profession.

I can't wait to start "civilian" life!

Be careful bro! According to numerous Hollywood movies I've seen, "short timers" are more likely to not reach retirement!

    J/K, congrats!

Wow, I didn't know you were old enough to retire. Way to go my friend, and thank you for being willing to deal with the dummies and dirtbags of our society the last 28 years. I don't think I'd make it a year doing that.

Just don't fall into the retiring cop cliche and have a last minute accident, please.

Hmm interesting. I've always wondered what the people of law enforcement think about it. Congrats and good luck on your new path in life.
  17. Congrats.

And just FYI, I never got the senseless cop hatred, and I'm in a punk band...
